The median sales price of existing homes in Greater Richmond was $184,975 in the fourth quarter of 2011, according to the Virginia Association of Realtors.
The average sales price for a new 2,400-square-foot, single family dwelling with three bedrooms and two baths on an 8,000-square-foot lot in the Richmond area was $259,000, according to C2ER 2011 third quarter data.
Average monthly apartment rental was $843 for a 950-square-foot, two bedroom, unfurnished unit with 1½ - 2 baths, excluding all utilities except water, according to C2ER 2011 third quarter data.
