Derricott receives EWI leadership award

Richmond, VA  - The Greater Richmond Partnership, Inc., a regional economic development organization, congratulates Valerie Derricott on receiving the 2009 Leadership Award from Executive Women International – Richmond Chapter.  

Requirements for the award include being a first time active member of EWI in good standing with the association and being actively involved on a committee within EWI.  Additionally, candidates must have demonstrated a background of good leadership skills.   The award includes a scholarship to attend the 2009 Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

Derricott joined the Partnership in 2007 after working for Dominion for 27 years and served as Supervisor of Nuclear Records and Human Resources Administrator. During her time there, she took several certification classes from J. Sergeant Reynolds, including Six Sigma and record management and human resources. She was integral in helping create the Diversity Council at Dominion and received extensive leadership training.
