Sara Dunnigan: job connector with a singing telegram past
Sara Dunnigan has had a lot of jobs.
She's worked for retail, banking and utility companies, a chamber of commerce and a transportation planning agency.
Dunnigan, 39, has even performed singing telegrams.
And her role is morphing yet again.
The Chesterfield County resident was recently promoted to senior vice president of existing business services/talent development at the Greater Richmond Partnership, a public-private regional economic development agency.
One of her main roles will be to link workers with businesses that are new to the area or expanding and in search of a workforce.
"The promotion will expand my responsibilities with a focus on bringing these two communities together -- new and expanding businesses and the right workforce to support them," she said. "I am excited about working on initiatives that have the potential to impact the regional economy in positive measurable ways."
If you have a bad attitude, watch out for Dunnigan, a cancer survivor.
Her biggest pet peeve is chronically negative people.
"I prefer to focus on what's possible and I think pretty much everything is possible if you approach it with the right attitude."
