The Richmond area landed its traditional seven companies on the newest edition of the Fortune 500, which was released on Monday, but they were joined by an eighth.

Arko Holdings made the list at No. 498. The Henrico-based company owns a number of convenience store concepts, including Fas Mart locally.

The company’s Chairman and CEO Arie Kotler said he’s incredibly proud the company was recognized for its growth and success.

“We’re incredibly proud to be named to this year’s Fortune 500 list, an important confirmation that our growth strategy, disciplined investment approach, and our people continue to deliver excellent results,” Kotler said. “This is a significant achievement since joining NASDAQ less than two years ago, and a testament to our continued success.”

Kotler added that the company will continue to drive growth and execute their strategy to deliver long-term value for stakeholders.

Founded in 2003 with 169 stores, Arko has grown through acquisitions to include 1,396 stores and 1,625 wholesale sites in 33 states and Washington, D.C.
