Startup Virginia opening new location in Henrico to expand programming

November 13, 2025

Starup Virginia New Location

After spending its first decade in business in Shockoe Bottom, Startup Virginia is expanding outside of the city for the first time as it looks to grow its reach to entrepreneurs around the region.

The startup incubator announced today that it will be opening a second location at 4912 Augusta Ave. in Henrico County, near Willow Lawn.

The nonprofit plans to convert the around 7,000-square-foot office building into the Henrico Innovation Hub and will help add to the incubator’s offerings as part of what the nonprofit describes as a three-pronged approach to growth.

Founded in 2016, Startup Virginia offers resources, programming and coworking space to help entrepreneurs and startup founders. Among its various programs is the Idea Factory, a seven-week program for early-stage entrepreneurs looking to develop their business ideas.

The incubator is headquartered as the lead tenant in the Capital One-powered 1717 Innovation Center at 1717 E. Cary St.
