RICHMOND, Va. (July 6, 2026) – The Greater Richmond Partnership (GRP), the lead regional economic development organization for the City of Richmond and counties of Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico in Virginia, announces it was awarded a 2026 Mac Conway Award for Excellence in Economic Development. This prestigious ranking by Site Selection Magazine places GRP among the top 20 economic development organizations in the nation – including the third time in the last five years.
“Being named one of the nation’s top regional economic development organizations by Site Selection magazine is a testament to the strength of our regional partnership,” said Sean Davis, Chair of the GRP Board of Directors. “On behalf of the GRP Board, I want to congratulate our team on this well-earned recognition.”
Site Selection noted several initiatives that placed GRP as an industry leader including a push for a transatlantic direct flight as well as the region’s affordability for companies and residents, alike. GRP also recently launched an interactive dashboard that provides data providing an overview into economic progress.
“Companies choosing to invest in Greater Richmond are finding a region with real momentum,” said GRP President + CEO Jennifer Wakefield. “This recognition affirms that our business climate, our workforce and our regional approach are resonating well beyond Virginia.”
Other publications have also ranked GRP among the top economic development organizations. Most recently, Business Facilities Magazine ranked GRP a top economic development organization for AI usage in business attraction efforts.
