Bettina Geissbuehler is a business development manager with a track record of building strategic partnerships, expanding market access, and driving organizational growth through outreach, research and relationship management across the energy, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries.
Before joining the Greater Richmond Partnership, she worked at Oceantic Network, an energy industry trade association, as Director of Business Development and Global Outreach, where she translated how the organization drives industry growth, researched adjacent sectors to identify new opportunities and developed outreach strategies that expanded market access and strengthened supply chain connections. She also supported the marketing team with innovative outreach and engagement strategies that deepen member relationships. Bettina managed the organization’s presence at domestic and global trade shows and conferences and led the Global Gateway program, organizing U.S. delegations traveling abroad to build international connections and open new pathways for market entry.
Prior to Bettina’s work in energy, she spent five years in Germany and Switzerland working in marketing and sales across the pharmaceutical and consumer goods (FMCG) industries, developing a strong foundation in market research, category strategy and cross-border business practices. After relocating to Richmond, Virginia in 2020, she brought that international business background to the energy sector, joining a market research firm focused on the U.S. offshore wind industry, where she authored industry reports for European stakeholders and supported data-driven presentation materials for webinars and briefings.
Bettina holds a B.S. in International Business from Elon University in North Carolina, earned through a Dual Degree Program that took her to Germany for a B.S. in International Management from ESB Business School. She went on to complete a master’s degree in Marketing, Services and Communication Management at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
When she’s not traveling the world and sampling local cuisines, Bettina enjoys spending time with family and friends. Fun fact: she’s an avid skier — both water and snow.
