The Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) is an applied research center that bridges the gap between fundamental research conducted at universities and product development performed by companies. CCAM is the only known collaboration of its kind in North America and it works to accelerate the transition from research to product development. Member companies pool resources, share risk and capitalize on the success of CCAM’s research and development.

The Richmond Chapter of SME sponsors two university chapters, James Madison University and Virginia State University, creating a pipeline of well-qualified talent.
Virginia Energy Sense is the Commonwealth’s energy education program. Our mission is to help all Virginians understand their energy use and, more importantly, how to save energy easily and cost effectively. Reducing energy consumption will put money in your back pocket. It will also help our state’s economy and clean our air, land and water. That’s why saving energy just makes good sense.
