The Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) is an applied research center that bridges the gap between fundamental research conducted at universities and product development performed by companies. CCAM is the only known collaboration of its kind in North America and it works to accelerate the transition from research to product development. Member companies pool resources, share risk and capitalize on the success of CCAM’s research and development.

Society of Manufacturing Engineers

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) is comprised of manufacturing professionals in all disciplines and skill levels and works to connect companies with these professionals. The Richmond Chapter of SME sponsors two university chapters, James Madison University and Virginia State University, creating a pipeline of well-qualified talent.
