The Greater Richmond Partnership (GRP) announces that Joe Kane has joined the team as Senior Director of Research. Kane will support business development and marketing initiatives that target key audiences in recruiting companies to the Richmond Region.

Prior to joining GRP, Kane was a fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. for more than a decade, where he managed a research portfolio covering local, state and national issues related to economic development. His work has informed the development of new metrics and insights across the country and been featured in various media outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Economist. Kane started his career at the U.S. Dept. of Labor as an economist.
Kane holds a bachelor’s in economics and history from William & Mary, a master’s of urban and environmental planning from the University of Virginia and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University.
