Virginia has launched a program to help coal and energy technology companies find customers in international markets.
Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced the Go Global with Coal & Energy Technology program Friday during an event in Bluefield. The program is a collaboration of the Governor’s Office, the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
McAuliffe said the program will give companies an opportunity to export their products and expertise to international markets.
Up to 10 qualifying companies will participate each year for the next two years. Six companies have been accepted to participate in the program’s first year. They will receive up to $15,000 toward export-related expenses, strategic international business planning and other assistance.
