Richmond Region to host new Consultants Forum Workshop Summit

November 15, 2018

Top site location consultants to experience area first-hand

RICHMOND, VA – The Greater Richmond Partnership (“GRP”) announces that Area Development magazine, a top-rated national publication focused on site selection and industrial real estate, has chosen the Richmond Region for its inaugural Consultants Forum OutFront Workshop Forum to be held March 31 to April 2, 2019 at The Jefferson Hotel.

“We’re excited about Greater Richmond hosting our newest conference. Before making the location decision, I visited the area for the first time in two decades and was impressed with how the region has grown since my last visit,” said Dennis Shea, publisher of Area Development. “I think our conference guests will have a favorable impression.”

The Greater Richmond Partnership, the localities it represents (the City of Richmond, and counties of Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico) and Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) recruited the conference to the region. Other localities throughout Virginia are supporting the summit. Hosting the conference will provide attendees with important insights about the location advisory process and how economic developers can be ready to respond more effectively to win projects.

“Site location consultants are involved in half of all economic development projects. As such, GRP has a very active engagement with them, including a partnership with the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE),” said Jennifer Wakefield, senior vice president of marketing for GRP. “But hosting an event of this caliber with more than 25 top site location consultants from around the country is a huge win for our region. We’re thrilled to be able to show off the region to this group.”
